Freelancing is a contract based profession where instead of being recruited in an  organization, the person uses his skills (such as ,WEB DESIGNING, COPY  WRITING,  CONTENT CREATOR, 3D- ANIMATION, UI/UX DESIGN etc) and experience to provide  service(s) to a number of clients or organization.

In simple terms, Freelancing is when a person who uses his or her skills, experience, and education to work with multiple clients or organization by taking on various assignments without committing to a single or particular employer.

Freelancing usually involves jobs  called GIGS that allow you to work from home and delivered it over the  internet without your presence at the company or seeing your client face to face.

WHO EXACTLY IS A FREELANCER?

A Freelancer or Freelance worker is a self- employed person who earns money by providing services to multiple clients or organization. These services are relate to the person’s skill and are not necessarily provided  to just businesses.

Many freelancers  make used of third party platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, freelancer. Com etc to get business. Most often than not, many freelancers also uses their social media handle to reach out to clients.

HOW TO BECOME A FREELANCER?

Becoming a freelancer is just as easy as ordering something over the internet. You just have to visit sites that offer freelance jobs and tasks, and take them on. Sites such as  fiverr.com , upwork.com etc. They  are several other sites though but i just had to put this first because of it uniqueness and flexibility.

Anyone who wants to be a successful freelancer, must make sure all these are in place. I would be listing and explaining  them one after the other for better understanding.

First on the list of the things you need if you want to become a successful freelancer is

¶ HAVE A SKILL:  To really make head way as a freelancer, you need a skill – specifically, DIGITAL SKILL that you can offer to your clients in exchange. That’s to say, you are been paid for the services you render.

These skills might be digital marketing, web designing, copy writing, and content creator UI/UX design  etc. They are several other digital skills that are not list here but will be required by specific clients. So, if maybe as you scroll  through the page, and you find any job request in your area of specialty; all you have to do is, is to send your proposal.

¶ INTERNET CONNECTION: Another vital requirement that every freelancer must  have, is a means to connect or access the internet space. This implies that, you will need maybe a smart phone or a laptop   that will enable you to  access the internet, (II) High speed internet services (modem).

¶ A DEDICATED WORK SPACE: Now, to avoid distractions when working on a job, you need to mapped out a specific work space in your home/room that would be seen as your office for carrying out tasks; this will enable you to always deliver clean job  to your clients .

¶ SIGN UP:  Like we said earlier, every successful freelancer make uses of third – party platforms to reach out to their clients and to get jobs.  So, you need to register your membership with any platform that offer freelance jobs. They are several sites that offers this service which are fiverr, upwork, freelancer.Com, people per hour etc. 

¶ SET UP YOUR YOUR PROFILE:  After you must have signed up with your preferred platform, it will be required that you set up your profile. That means you are to indicate your area of specialty, your  qualification, and if maybe you have done any successful freelance job in the past, you will  also indicate.   It is also applicable that you give credible description  of yourself in order to avoid been kick out of the platform if you are caught impersonating.

¶ START SENDING PROPOSAL: Here is another vital aspect. After you must have done all your registration processes, and profile setting the next   step is to start sending proposals. What this mean is, it is like dropping application letter wherever there’s vacancy in your area of specialty. If maybe you are scrolling through your registered platform, and you find a client who is searching for maybe a graphic design and you are a graphic designer. Sending a direct message to that client or organization, that is what it means to send a proposal.

Now in conclusion, freelancing is one of the easiest ways to earn both passive and active income anywhere in the world without investing any dime. There are problems everywhere in the world, and people are willing to pay any amount in order to get solution so if you can offer them solution, then you are sure of  smiling often to the bank. The truth is this: Nobody will pay you for doing nothing. So, if you want the money, you must be ready to give out value in exchange.
